Show Information

Welcome to ColdCon 2013! This is our 6th year as an annual show and our first year with a new management team and new direction!

The first ColdCon was held in 1998 by David Fenner and his team of folks with “Games People Play.” After the store closed and some ten years passed, Fenner and crew missed the fun, hectic, and exciting days of running a show and banded together again to host ColdCon 2008, held at the Tamarac Community Lodge. From there, Fenner and the team built the show from a one-day affair of local gaming in the dead of winter to a larger two-day show held at West Shore Community College and featuring multiple vendors, events, and more!

This past spring, with his own commitments making show management difficult, Fenner sold ColdCon to local game store owner and ColdCon supporter Nate Petersen. With the original crew still on board and new faces eager to help the show continue to grow 2013 marks the first year with the new team!

We’re continuing the path set forth by the original show and continuing to grow, moving this year to the Ramada Inn & Convention Center of Ludington! In addition to vendors from all over the state, this year marks the first attendance of Guests of Honor, including local young adult author Jenn Rush as she releases her first major title and artist Bradley K. McDevitt, known through recent gaming history for his work at TSR, Wizards of the Coast, Game Designers Workshop, Goodman Games, and more!

We hope to continue to make ColdCon a rousing success and expand to include many more channels for education, entertainment, and just plain fun!
